What is Swallow Food?
Swallow food is a traditional African staple - think doughy, elastic, starchy goodness made from ingredients like cassava, plantain, corn or yam.
It is referred to as swallow because of the way it is eaten, where a little piece of dough is pinched, rolled into a ball, dipped into soup/stew and swallowed with little or no chewing involved. It is traditionally eaten with the hand.
